Further Investigation Could Jeopardize the Entire Outcome
After recent adventures in San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, and the Strawberry Music Festival, life has become even more exciting.
This weekās accomplishments:
⢠Had coffee. Later that night, regretted it.
⢠Decided to eat healthy. I now find myself genuinely enjoying nutritional yeast and arugula. I never saw that coming.
⢠Took a hike, injured my Achilles tendon, spent several weeks limping around, and learned that YouTube influencers rarely include āresults may varyā in large enough print.
⢠Tried mocktails. Discovered they arenāt nearly as much fun as cocktails, but the mornings are considerably better.
⢠Bought water at Walmart and spent time researching whether it was safe to drink.
⢠Kept the dishes from staging a hostile takeover of the sink.
⢠Did laundry before I had to turn my underwear inside out to get another day out of it.
⢠Had three dates with myself. Enjoyed all of them. No drama. Highly recommended.
⢠Had electrical problems on the RV. They are now working, and I have no idea how I accomplished this. Further investigation could jeopardize the entire outcome.
⢠Gained one new subscriber and one new like on an article.
⢠Realized I now have over 100 subscribers on Substack. Thank you.
⢠Also realized that zero people subscribe to my RV repair newsletter.
Music News
Iāve been enjoying the live gigs lately, especially when I get to play with piano player Peter Supersano. Good musicians make everything more fun.
I was back at Wild River Grille this weekend, which is always one of my favorite places to play.
The Sparks Farmers Market was a little tougher. Naturally, the hottest day of the year so far showed up right when I did. Weāre working on a better setup so I spend less time baking in the Reno sun. Considering summer is just getting started, I figure this is a wise investment.
I also have a plan for dealing with the heat.
Itās called going to the mountains.
Top Secret Project Department
Iāve been tinkering with an idea that might bring my music show back in a form that works better for me.
At the moment itās top secret.
If it works, youāll see it.
If it doesnāt, it will be quietly transferred to the same file where all my other brilliant ideas live.
I joke about a lot of things, but I took a moment this week to appreciate those 103 subscribers. Thatās 103 people who signed up to follow my music, stories, observations, and assorted misadventures.
Iām grateful for every one of them.
At this stage of my life, I call those wins.
Sometimes win-wins.
Songs
Here is one of my Songs. Written by my good buddy Cactus Bob Cole, the man is brilliant.
What Caught My Eye
If you think āI Got You Babeā is the greatest love song in history, you might be a Mud-head! Go ahead tell me why Iām wrong in the comments.
Volts and Amps and Wires, Oh My!
I
I found the Wiz.
Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans?
At this point, a big bowl of posole seemed inevitable.
Yikes, I manifested Posole!
Thanks again for spending a few minutes with me each week.
If youāre beginning to enjoy this newsletter, Iād love to hear from you. Reply, leave a comment, or just say hello.
If you know a venue, winery, restaurant, private event, or living room that could use a little live music, let me know. House concerts are always welcome.
Until next time, keep your sense of humor, appreciate the little wins, and remember:
Further investigation could jeopardize the entire outcome.
